Florence Welch - Florence Welch Feels More British

Florence Welch is ''growing into Britishness''.

The Florence + the Machine singer feels that the older she gets, the more she appreciates her UK roots and says her ''best ever'' day was watching the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton last year.

She said: ''I am definitely growing into my Britishness. The more I grow up, the more British I become. I had the best day ever [during last year's Royal Wedding] - I dressed up and put on a crown and watched it with my mother and sister. We were shouting at the television, 'Kiss her, kiss her again!'''

The 'Shake It Out' hitmaker also admitted she ''did a run-off'' when her UK tour came to an end because she was desperate for some rest.

She told Britain's Harper's Bazaar magazine: ''I did a run-off. I've never done one before, but I was so tired from all the touring, I had to go to bed. I left the stage, put my slippers on and ran through the carpark in my catsuit with my cape flying behind me, screaming, 'Gooooooooo!' ''

Meanwhile, Florence was among the guests at last night's (31.06.12) Hop Farm Create the Gate competition unveiling.

The singer had been among the judges for the contest and last night it was revealed that Fee Greening 's creation will be used for the entrance to this year's Hop Farm Festival, which takes place at Paddock Wood in Kent from June 29-July 1.

Other guests at the Cob Gallery in north London included presenter Caroline Flack, while Tribes provided music. Rising British artist Hayden Kays created a special exhibition for the event, while guests were served Belvedere vodka cocktails.
