Rapper Flo Rida has teamed up with dance Dj Marc Mysterio to record a charity song which will benefit the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Net proceeds from Booty on the Floor, which was released this week (10Jun13), will be donated to One Fund Boston, which was set up to help those affected by the 15 April (13) blast.

Mysterio, who used to live in Boston, Massachusetts, says of the tune, "For me, (the lyrics) 'put your booty on the floor' is a paraphrased way to say 'call to action' and 'get in gear', which honours the first responders in Boston, as well as those whom (sic) acted on impulse to care for the wounded. By supporting them now, we are getting our collective booties on the floor."

The musicians are the latest artists to lend their support to the One Fund Boston - Aerosmith, Carole King, New Kids on the Block and Jason Aldean were among the stars who performed during the Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration charity event in the city last month (May13).

Three people were killed in the blasts and more than 175 were injured in the tragedy.
