Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac Announce 2013 Tour Dates

04 December 2012

The Landslide singer told ABC News Radio in October (12) that she and bandmates Mick Fleetwood, John MCVie and Lindsey Buckingham would regroup for rehearsals "somewhere around the end of February" as they hoped to hit the road by April (13) - and now the concert schedule has been unveiled.

The tour will kick off in Columbus, Ohio on 4 April (12) and Nicks and her bandmates hope to take the show worldwide.

Nicks tells Rolling Stone, "It's the perfect time to go back out. 2013 is going to be the year of Fleetwood Mac. If everything goes well we'll be in Europe doing festivals this summer. Then we'll actually tour Europe, which is different than just doing festivals. Then we might do 15 or so shows in Australia."

And fans will get a special treat - new material Nicks has written with former lover Buckingham.

She adds, "We actually have two new Fleetwood Mac songs that I cut with Lindsey two weeks ago we might play. I had a really good time working with him for four days at his house. I got to hang out with his family and his kids, his grown up kids, and really connect with him again.

"We're pretty proud of what we have done, and we're looking at it through the eyes of wisdom now, instead of through the eyes of jealousy and resentment and anger."

The 2013 tour will coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Rumours album, which remains one of the most successful releases of all-time.

The four-piece last toured in 2009. A planned 2012 trek was scrapped when Nicks opted to extend her solo tour, prompting Fleetwood to suggest he'd never be able to reunite the band for future dates.

Nicks said, "I had to put my foot down and say, 'I'm not touring with you in 2012,' and it wasn't a very popular idea."

Fleetwood told Playboy magazine he blamed Nicks for wrecking the group's plans, stating, "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again."
