Big Brother - First Housemates Rodrigo Lopes And Noirin Kelly

Rodrigo Lopes and Noirin Kelly became the first official 'Big Brother' housemates last night (04.06.09).

Although 16 hopefuls entered the reality TV house, they must all pass challenges set by 'Big Brother' to guarantee a permanent place on the show.

Shortly after the contestants were together Big Brother called for one housemate to come to the diary room. Brazilian student Rodrigo, 23 complied and was told candidates each have to earn their stay and was handed the first task.

Rodrigo was given a marker pen and a set of hair shavers and told he had four minutes to shave the eyebrows of another contestant and draw a comedy moustache and pair of glasses on them, to ensure them both a place in the house.

He rushed back into the main room to quickly explain. Without hesitation, Irish retail manager Noirin said: "Shave them off, it's fine. I worked so hard to get here, just do it."

With only seconds left on the clock 'Big Brother' announced it was satisfied with the pairs' effort and admitted them to the house bedroom.

Rodrigo later mimicked Noirin's face markings. During the challenge he failed to mention to Noirin she would have to mark her face the same every day "for the foreseeable future".

Contestants who do not complete a challenge will be put to the public vote and potentially evicted on Sunday (07.06.09).
