Fincher's A 'Killer'by Contributor | 02 November 2007
Fight Club director David Fincher is to helm an adaptation of little-known graphic novel The Killer, reports claim.
Originally published in 1988, the book by French writer Alexis Nolent, aka Matz, tells the story of an assassin plagued by a crisis of conscience and pursued by a cop at the top of his game.
The novel by Nolent - who currently works for videogame giant Ubisoft - debuted in the US as a ten-issue series published by Archaia Studio Press, as well as hitting the shelves just before John Woo's similarly-plotted movie of the same name was released.
The film will see Fincher reunite with Brad Pitt - the pair are currently working on their third film together, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - whose Plan B Entertainment will produce alongside Alexandra Milchan.
Variety reports Allesandro Camon, currently adapting Robert Ludlum's thriller The Chancellor Manuscript, will pen the script for the Paramount Pictures production.
Former music video director Fincher shot Zodiac, his first film since 2002's Panic Room, with Paramount Studios, and as well as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He is also set to bring Arthur C Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama to the screen in 2009.
