Mixed martial arts champion Jon 'BONES' JonES has been banned from driving for six months following his arrest in New York earlier this year (12).
The Ultimate Fighting Championship Light Heavyweight title holder was charged with driving under the influence (Dui) in May (12) after crashing his car into a utility pole and destroying his luxury Bentley.
He had his licence temporarily suspended when he pleaded guilty to the count days after the accident, and faced up to a year behind bars for the crime.
However, Jones, 25, managed to reach a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time and instead pleaded guilty to a count of driving while intoxicated during a court hearing on Tuesday (31Jul12).
Under the terms of the agreement, the sportsman has been barred from getting behind the wheel until next year (13) and must complete a victim impact course within 90 days. He has also been fined $1,000 (£625) and must pay $6,500 (£4,063) in restitution to officials at New York State Electric and Gas to repair the damaged light pole.
