Fela!'S Jones Wants Gordy Musical

Tony Award-winning FELA! choreographer BILL T. JONES is working on bringing Motown mogul BERRY GORDY's life story to the stage in a new musical.
Jones reveals he's in talks for four new projects, including stage adaptations of 1959 movie Black Orpheus and 1972 blaxploitation film Super Fly, as well as an all-singing, all-dancing production based on Gordy's hitmaking career.
He says, "We're talking about Black Orpheus; we're talking to Berry Gordy; we're talking about Super Fly, the musical. And Monsoon Wedding."
Monsoon Wedding will be based on the romantic 2001 Indian film of the same name.
