Fats Domino 'Reunited' With Gold Records
FATS DOMINO was overjoyed after he received reproductions of 20 gold records he lost when Hurricane Katrina ravaged his home in 2005.
The Ain't That A Shame legend, who chose to weather the storm rather than flee Louisiana two years ago, was presented with the replicas at a French Quarter nightclub in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday (13Aug07).
Famed musicians Irma Thomas, Charmaine Neville and Deacon John were on hand to see the stunned 79-year-old star receive the gold plated records.
A spokesperson for Capitol/EMI, the recording label that helped with the project, says, "Everything was replicated, down to the record labels and the framing."
