The couple welcomed daughter Nelly May Lois Cook into the world on Thursday (14Jan10). The tot weighed in at eight pounds (3.6kilogams).

A statement from the pop star and his broadcaster wife reads, "Mum, Dad and big brother Woody are doing great. They are the happiest Mama and Dad in the world."

The baby news comes just months after Cook spent time in rehab to kick an alcohol addiction.

Announcing the pregnancy last July (09), Ball revealed the party-loving pair's sobriety helped her conceive. She said, "Norm and I tried for a baby for years with no joy, but we both quit drinking this year and, lo and behold, it worked! So I'm feeling quite blessed."
