Farrell Won Allen Film Role After Impersonating Woody
The Irishman was so nervous when he met his idol, he fears he may have appeared neurotic - and initially felt sure he'd missed the chance to work with Allen.
He says, "I went along and I met him. They said, 'It's not going to be a very long meeting,' and the meeting lasted about 47 seconds.
"I was like, 'What just happened?' and my agent called and said the meeting went very well but he said that I did a great impersonation of him, and I couldn't figure it out.
"But I was so nervous meeting Woody Allen that he went, 'Colin, really nice to meet you,' and I went, '(It's) really nice to meet you too (just like him).'"
"Swear to God I had no idea I was doing it... I still got the movie. He's lovely to be around. He seems like a very gentle man."
The film, which started shooting in London at the beginning of this week (beg17JUL06), also features Ewan McGregor and Tom Wilkinson and is tentatively called the UNTITLED WOODY ALLEN SUMMER PROJECT.
