2013 is officially the year of the comeback. Destiny's Child and Justin Timberlake have satiated the wont of many an R&B fan, David Bowie has utterly delighted die-hard 80s fans, and now The Postal Service has sent the indie world into a flurry of excitement.

The Postal Service are an amalgam of some of the best indie bands of the noughties including Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, and producer Jimmy Tamborello, along with a variety of guest performances across their timeless album 'Give-Up'. The band's website changed today, to a black page with 'The Postal Service 2013' written in their iconic font.

While very few details have been released for definite from the duo or their management, there has been plenty of speculation about what to expect including numerous sources saying that they will be performing at this year's Coachella, as well as plenty of others pointing towards other tour dates, according to Billboard. One thing for definite is that their label Subpop is preparing a deluxe edition re-release of their album.

Fans across the globe are rejoicing at the reunion but one thing everyone wants to know is whether there'll be new music, and if so, whether it will be made in their eponymous method. Gibbard and Tamborello would exchange music, editing and tweaking one another's work, by sending it to and fro using the postal service, hence the name, The Postal Service.
