Sex Pistols - Fans Campaign For Repeat Of Sex Pistols Monarchy Scandal

Punk legends the Sex Pistols' iconic track God Save The Queen is to be re-released on its 35th anniversary this year (12), sparking a campaign for a repeat of the band's famous monarchy-baiting antics of 1977.
The British Establishment was rocked when the tune was released to coincide with Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, and the controversial song was banned by the Bbc and a string of record stores.
Despite the airplay veto, the track sold more than 150,000 copies and famously led to accusations Bbc bosses fixed the U.K.'s weekly singles chart to stop it reaching the Number One slot.
Universal Music chiefs have confirmed they are re-releasing God Save The Queen this year (12), coinciding with the British monarch's Diamond Jubilee - and fans have launched a campaign on to get the track to the top of the charts.
The song will be released at the end of May, in time for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations the following month (Jun12).
