Family Guy - 'Family Guy Should Have Ended Already', Says Seth Macfarlane
Family Guy , the award winning animated television series, should have ended already according to its creator Seth Macfarlane. The show, which began airing its tenth season last month, has picked up 12 Prime Emmy Awards as well as a global fan base.
Despite the show's continued success, MACfarlane shows signs of regret that the series has run for so long. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the writer explained, "Part of me thinks that Family Guy should have already ended. I think seven seasons is about the right lifespan for a TV series". The 37-year-old says while there are people who claim the show is over the hill, the vast majority still "go pale" when he mentions the possibility of wrapping things up. There is already a deal in place to create a Family Guy movie, which MACfarlane has already begun writing with co-producer Ricky Blitt, however, it is not clear whether a feature film would be released while the television series continues to run. The writer and comedian suggested doing "a really fantastic final episode" as the way to bring things to an end.
Meanwhile, MACfarlane continues to work on separate projects, including his forthcoming comedy movie 'Ted' about a man whose teddy bear comes to life as the result of a childhood wish. The film, starring Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg, is slated for release on 3rd August 2012.
