Faithfull: 'Winehouse Needs Praise'

25 February 2009
Sixties icon Marianne Faithfull has urged Amy Winehouse's fans to shower her with praise, insisting her battle with addiction stems from low self-esteem.

Faithfull fought her own battle with drugs in the 1970's and has some wise words of advice for the Grammy-winning recovering addict.

The 62-year-old tells GT magazine, "What am I going to say to her? 'Go back to rehab?' The only thing I can do is give her praise - addiction comes from low self-esteem."
