Faithfull Slams Cowell's 'Depressing' Reality Shows
Sixties icon Marianne Faithfull has hit out at Simon Cowell's "depressing" reality TV shows such as American Idol and The X Factor - branding them "completely false".
The former rock wild child admits she's not a fan of the genre and is convinced producers are searching for "fake personalities" to boost their ratings, rather than achieve lasting chart success.
She tells The Word magazine, "I hate, hate, hate reality TV programmes like The X Factor. The people on these programmes have got qualities I never had: flashy voices, incredible dance moves that look fake, fake personalities. They're completely false.
"That's what they want - technical ability without any soul. I find that very depressing."
