Faith Evans Thanks Fans On Twitter After Arrest
R&B singer FAITH EVANS thanked her fans for their support on her Twitter page, just days after being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving. Evans told her allegiance of online followers that, despite the incident, she was ready to resume work on her new music video, she tweeted, "Hi Faithfuls...I am on the set of my new video for my single 'Gone Already.' I'm sure by now most of you heard that I was detained on suspicion of a DUI. After completing a full day of wardrobe prep I was stopped at a random checkpoint. I'm fine and well, and thank you for your prayers, kind words and concerns. I can't wait for you all to see my new video & look forward to hearing from u guys...Fizzy".
On Saturday 21st August 2010, Evans was pulled over in Marina de Rey, Los Angeles, and arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. According to The Associated Press, the singer was then taken into police custody while her car was impounded - she was released on bail on Sunday morning. Shortly before being arrested, Evans had tweeted news of her new music video, stating, "Its a beautiful day 'Faithfuls'..bout to get started on hair & makeup. We shoot 'Gone Already' today".
The American singer-songwriter is the widow of rapper Christopher Wallace aka THE NOTORIOUS BIG, who was killed in 1997. Evans recorded a tribute single to her late husband with PUFF DADDY, entitled 'I'll Be Missing You' which subsequently won her a GRAMMY AWARD in 1998.
