Faith Evans - Faith Evans Donating Album Proceeds To Whitney Houston's School
Singer Faith Evans is donating a portion of the proceeds from her new collaborative album to benefit the school named in honour of her late friend Whitney Houston.
Evans was left devastated by the death of her pal back in February (12) and is still coming to terms with her loss, so she decided to work on a music project in her honour.
The singer has recorded R&B Divas with the fellow stars of her reality TV show of the same name and she is donating some of the money raised from its release to the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing arts in East Orange, New Jersey.
She tells the New York Daily News, "We had a genuine love for each other, and nothing prepares you for losing that. Over time, the pain gets better, as I know from experiencing it with my husband (late rapper Notorious B.I.G.), but it's still very shocking...
"It (making the album) was very therapeutic. We can honour her memory and give back to the public school system and the art programs, which played a huge part in my life growing up. Being able to give back to something she believed in... it sweetens it up a little."
Houston drowned in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles in February (12).
