Michael Jackson - Extent Of Michael Jackson's Troubles Revealed In Leaked Emails

A series of troubling communication between promoters have highlighted just how troubled Michael Jackson was in the month leading up to his death in the summer of 2009, with the star described as "drunk and despondent" in one of some 250 messages obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
That description of the one-time King of Pop came from promoter Randy Phillips, who was speaking to his boss at Anschutz Entertainment Group whilst MJ was supposed to be rehearsing for the now fateful This Is It world tour that never was. "I screamed at him so loud the walls are shaking," Phillips continued over Blackberry. "He is an emotionally paralyzed mess riddled with self-loathing and doubt now that it is show time." The tense undercurrent to the message was because Aeg had effectively committed Jackson to a deal that would see him perform for the promoters for a series of dates at London's O2 Arena to the best of his ability, or risk losing his debt-ridden estate to them where they'd then recoup the money through sales of his back catalogue.
The messages have come out with two lawsuits related to the deceased singer that will go to trial next year. One is from the cancelled shows' insurers who are asking a judge to nullify a $17.5 million policy that they say Aeg got with false claims about Jackson's health. The other comes from Jackson's heirs, who are accusing the promoters of pressurising the star into a comeback despite his dubious state of health.

I read the original article and contactmusic once again failed to tell people who read their articles that it was discovered that the drunk analogy was false. The discovery was MJ had a case of the nerves not this lie about him being paralyzed with fear and the rest of this bogus crap. If these people (AEG) was so concerned as to whether physically MJ could do those 50 shows "they" wanted him to do, then why would they have put him under such an exausting contract that they themselves assumed he wouldn't have been able to perform? His mom had already stated that AEG wanted him to do those 50 shows. That just makes no sense. If they "knew" he was so out of it wouldn't they know "they" were tempting fate and "they" would lose out in the end. AEG is trying to avoid these lawsuits and once again their attempt is to blame MJ so they can get out of paying up but will NOT work!!

Lawsuits and insurance losses may not be all AEG is trying to avoid. MJ seemed fine, not 'drunk or despondent' when he appeared at the 02 Arena to announce the This Is It concerts. I, too, have read that he may have had a temporary attack of nerves, which soon went when he heard the roar of the crowd. I pray that the truth comes out in the end about how and why he died.

This story has some information that is very familiar to me, but the parts that were the most compelling to me were about his need to perform or lose his estate to AEG, and he couldn't let that happen, especially with children to provide futures for. it does lend to speculation at the possibility of assisted suicide or add to the rumors that he may still be alive. In his shoes, I certainly would give serious thought to both scenarios.
