Ewan Mcgregor Hints At Trainspotting Sequel
Ewan McGregor has hinted he may star in a 'Trainspotting' sequel if The Script is good enough.
The Scottish actor - who shot to fame as heroin addict Renton in the original 1996 movie - says he wouldn't "completely dismiss" the idea of a second film and admitted he feels pressured because so many others want it to happen.
He said: "It's still the main thing people ask me about when they come up to me in the street.
"It's not something that I would completely dismiss off-hand until I've seen a script. I don't like being the guy that's making it not happen, especially when all the other guys want to make it."
However, the 39-year-old star added he would have to be persuaded because he wasn't very impressed with author Irvine Welsh's follow-up book 'Porno' - and also expressed the opinion that sequels often receive a poor reception.
He added to The Sun newspaper: "I wouldn't want to do a sequel to 'Trainspotting' if it was just for the sake of it and, if I'm honest about it, I wasn't that blown away by the book.
"There's too many poor sequels in the world."
