Etta James Remembered By Kelly Rowland, Kings Of Leon, Bryan Adams
Twitter, as tends to be the way of it now, was leading the way with tributes from celebrities pouring in including Kelly Rowland, Bryan Adams and Nicola Roberts. "Classic. One Of A Kind. Pure Soul. Etta James! Thank You for gracing us with your incredible talent & presence!" tweeted Rowland, with Adams following suit and typing "Etta James...one of the best voices of all time...Rip." Nathan Followill drummer of Kings Of Leon commented "Rip Etta James. One of the greatest voices of all time. Thanks for the many romantic moments your music created."
Others to pay tribute to the star included Chic's Nile Rodgers who recollected "When I was a kid, I remember walking all the way to Flash Record Shop in LA to buy a 45 rpm single by Etta James Rip," while the reach of James went beyond the music world with British comedian James Corden saying "Etta James. What a life. May she rest in peace." Known for a voice that could span a variety of genres, James rose to prominence and worldwide fame with songs like 'At Last' 'Tell Mama' and 'I'd Rather Go Blind,' taking six Grammy Awards home among many other plaudits in a distinguished career.
