Etta James has been released from hospital.
The 73-year-old music legend - who is terminally ill with leukaemia - is resting at her home in Riverside, California, with her husband and a doctor after being discharged yesterday (05.01.12), and is said to be in a "stable" condition.
Etta's manager Lupe De Leon said: "She is at home with her husband and her family by her side. Her condition remains stable. We think it's best for her to be at home."
The 'I'd Rather Go Blind' singer - who has also battled dementia and kidney disease during the past few years - was admitted to hospital last month after experiencing breathing difficulties, and has been communicating with just nods and simple words.
Etta's husband Artis Mills is her conservator, but has been ordered by a judge that he must equally share "end of life" decisions with her sons Donoto and Sametto James, as well as having limitations placed on him in terms of how much of her fortune he can spend.
Paul Wright, the lawyer who represents the singer's sons in their dispute with her husband, recently said: "She is nearing the end of her time, but she's a tough lady."
Etta is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and won three Grammys throughout her career.
She has been credited by numerous musicians as a major influence on their work, including Diana Ross, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Adele and the late Amy Winehouse.
