Eric Dane Checks Into Rehab

The 'Grey's Anatomy' star - whose wife Rebecca Gayheart is currently pregnant with the couple's second child - voluntarily checked into The Hills Treatment Centre in Los Angeles as a "preventative measure" last month after he feared becoming addicted to painkilling medication prescribed for a sports injury.

His spokesperson confirmed: "Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual."

A close pal of Eric, 38, revealed he wants to get control of the situation before Rebecca - who is believed to be three months pregnant - gives birth and before he returns to his role as Dr Mark Sloan in the TV medical Drama.

According to America's Star magazine, the friend insists he has "too much to lose" explaining that "Eric felt things spiraling out of control and decided he needed to get some help".

Eric and Rebecca, 39, married in 2004 and already have a 16-month-old daughter, Billie Beatrice.
