Emmy Rossum met her boyfriend on Twitter.

The 'Phantom of the Opera' actress, 23 - who is divorcing music executive Justin Siegel - said her blossoming relationship with Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz began after the 'Mr. Jones' rockers sent her a message on the social networking website asking her to sing with them.

She said: "I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter.

"That's how we met - on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I'd never sung before. So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun."

Until now, the brunette had remained coy about her new relationship despite sources claiming to have seen her kiss 45-year-old Adam after performing together at a charity concert in September.

She said recently: "I really can't say whether I'm with him or not. But I get why chicks dig him. He's extremely kind, incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, creative and respectful."

The singer also managed to keep her secret marriage two years ago to Justin a secret.

She recently said she wants nothing from their divorce, except "my freedom".
