Miley Cyrus shocked the world by revealing a new punk-influenced look last month, the one-time teen prodigy making a clear statement about where she sees her maturity and potential crowd these days. It's been a year of change for both Cyrus and her other great child-adoring pop icon Justin Bieber, but whilst Bieber has signified his coming of age through his lyrics on new album Believe, Cyrus has adopted a more instant shock tactic to show her growing up.

Now the Daily Mail is reporting that a series of promotional shots further pushing the new Cyrus look - which has seen the 19 year-old have her hair cut off into a short blonde crop - and the aim of the photos is to build towards her forthcoming album. The teenager shows plenty of flesh in a pair of leather chap-style trousers and a cropped white top in the shots, posing in a look that's completed with black lipstick and a smouldering stare.

Cyrus was also looking to shock at the MTV VMA Awards last night (September 6th), turning up wearing an extremely revealing black gown. Only time will tell whether the forthcoming album from Cyrus will show the same lyrical development as Bieber, but for now it's her new image that is shaking up the pop world and has ensured that all eyes will be on her when the LP eventually does see the light of day.
