EMINEM has shattered chart expectations in America to land at the top of the album countdown with the biggest sales week in almost two years.
The rapper's Recovery has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 741,000 first-week sales.
That's the largest sales week for a single album since AC DC's Black Ice debuted with 784,000 in its first week back in October, 2008.
Recovery is Eminem's sixth consecutive number one debut.
The rapper also had a big week in the digital charts - 255,000 of his first-week tally came from downloads - that's the second-biggest digital week for an album in history. Only Coldplay's Viva La Vida debuted higher.
Eminem also tops the Digital Songs chart with his Love the Way You Lie collaboration with Rihanna.
Last week's Billboard 200 chart-topper by Drake (Thank Me Later) falls a spot to two and Miley Cyrus debuts Can't Be Tamed at three on the new countdown.
Ozzy Osbourne enters the chart high at four with Scream and hits compilation Now 34 rounds out the top five.
