The 'Love the Way You Lie' hitmaker is joined by rappers Royce Da 5'9'', Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden and Crooked I in the rap supergroup, and claims to have taken tips from his mentor for the production of their second album, 'Welcome to: Our House'.
Eminem said: ''All of Dre's little tricks, I've stolen over the years.''
Of the album, he added: ''I feel like hip-hop needs this.''
While the group's independently released first album was recorded quickly, this time they agonised over the tracks and pulled together to work out the best songs, rather than trying to best each other on individual verses.
Joe said: ''Nobody's in there trying to compete, it's about making songs now, trying to Take That next step.''
Meanwhile, Eminem has thanked fans for standing by him during the dark period of his life when he was addicted to prescription DRUGS, which he beat ahead of his 'Recovery' album in 2010.
Speaking at a concert in New York last night (09.08.12) he introduced 'Not Afraid' by saying he ''wouldn't have gotten out of that dark place without y'all.''
He then dedicated the track to ''anybody tonight who's been through personal struggles.''
Slaughterhouse had performed earlier in the evening to open the concert.
