Eminem - Eminem Offers Hope To Addicts In New Documentary

Rapper Eminem has opened up about his struggle to get clean in a new documentary, assuring suffering addicts life "does get better" once they conquer their dependency demons.

The Stan hitmaker is now sober after a four-year hell of painkiller and sedative abuse, which led to a near-fatal overdose in 2005, and he has shared his experiences in new movie How To Make Money Selling Drugs.

Discussing his overdose, Eminem says, "My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They were going to have to put me on dialysis. They didn't think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death. Within a month (after leaving hospital), I had relapsed and shot right back up to the same amount of pills that I was taking. I remember just walking around my house thinking every single day, I'm gonna f**king die."

Eminem also talks about the challenges of kicking his habit, recalling, "Coming off of everything, I literally was up 24 hours a day for three weeks straight. I mean not sleeping, not even nodding off for a f**king minute. I literally was just up, looking at the Tv."

The hip-hop star is still recovering from the damage he inflicted on his body, but he goes on to offer words of support to others in the throes of addiction.

He adds, "I had to regain motor skills, I had to regain talking skills. It's been a learning process, I'm growing. You just couldn't believe that anybody could ever be naturally happy, or naturally function or just enjoy life in general without being on something. I would say that to anybody that it does get better, it just does."

Moviemaker Matthew Cook's documentary was produced by Entourage star Adrian Grenier and also features an interview with stoner icon Woody Harrelson.
