Eminem - Eminem: 'Nate Dogg Can't Ever Be Replaced'
Rapper Eminem is the latest star to pay tribute to late pal Nate Dogg, insisting his former collaborator can "never be replaced".
The 41 year old passed away in Long Beach, California, in the early hours of Tuesday morning (15Mar11).
Hip-hop royalty including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ludacris have already issued statements praising the rapper/singer and offering words of condolence.
And now Eminem, who worked with Nate Dogg, real name Nathaniel Hale, on several tracks, has paid his own touching tribute.
In a statement to E! Online, he says, "Nate's voice in music will never be replaced. He helped create the blueprint for West Coast hip-hop, and I was one of the lucky people who had the privilege to work with him and the honour to have him as a friend. Nate will be sorely missed. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones."
The cause of Hale's death is not yet known but the hip-hop star spent the last few years struggling to recover from a series of strokes, which paralysed him down the left side of his body.
