Eminem Impressed By Odd Future's Antics

Rapper Eminem has lavished praise on controversial hip-hop group Odd Future, insisting he is enjoying watching the newcomers "pushing boundaries and buttons" in the music industry.

The Real Slim Shady hitmaker caused a similar stir when he broke into the mainstream in 1999 and came under fire amid accusations his lyrics were misogynistic and homophobic.

He has also upset several of his music peers by taking aim at the likes of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and 'N Sync in his tracks.

Odd Future have already attracted criticism for their inflammatory lyrics, with gay rights groups slamming them for using "hateful language" and critics drawing attention to references to rape in their tracks.

But Eminem is impressed with the band's attention-grabbing tactics - because it reminds him of the beginning of his own career.

He tells MTV News, "I haven't heard a lot from them, but I still have to go check out everything that they're doing. I've heard enough to know that it feels like they're pushing boundaries and buttons, and that's definitely one of the things that I'm familiar with, especially when I first came out.

"I love it, I love the fact that they're doing that. And the dudes can rhyme."
