Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley To Get The Hologram Treatment
They're going to need some pretty big mirrors for this one: it's been announced that the former King of rock and roll Elvis Presley is to be brought back to life via the new sensation that is holographic representation. As we all know by now, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg gave anyone tripping at Coachella Festival in April the freakiest hallucination they thought they'd ever had after introducing a hologram version of Tupac Shakur - dead since the mid 90's.
No surprise then that since the event the internet has been rife with rumors about which past legend will be next to get the virtual animation treatment, with Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson among those touted for a technologically-assisted second coming. However it looks like Elvis is going to beat all of them, with a statement from Elvis Presley Enterprises reading "This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis to life. His lifelong fans will be thrilled all over again and new audiences will discover the electric experience of Elvis the performer."
According to the Bbc, the company behind the project are The Digital Domain Media Group, the same people behind the Tupac hologram and co-founded by 'Avatar' director James Cameron. It's understood that "Elvis" will be appearing for a series of live shows and TV performances.
