Sir Elton John - Elton John Leads Stars In Valentine's Day Aids Campaign
14 February 2013Sir Elton John is leading a star-studded St. Valentine's Day (14Feb13) campaign to promote compassion for Aids sufferers.
The Rocket Man and his celebrity friends including singer Florence Welch, actress Elizabeth Hurley, pop star Jessie J, reality Tv star Kelly Osbourne and chef Jamie Oliver will prick their fingers and tweet the images along with the words 'Love Is In My Blood'.
John hopes the campaign will help combat prejudices against those suffering from the disease.
He says, "Now more than ever we know how to beat Aids. Thanks to incredible work by the Aids community over the past 20 years we now have affordable, quality treatment which saves lives and dramatically reduces the chances of passing on Hiv.
"But these medicines don't work against prejudice and discrimination. It's time to stop treating people who are most vulnerable to Hiv as outcasts. Everyone deserves the chance to protect themselves. Surely we have enough love for that."
The singer is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his Elton John Aids Foundation this year (13).
