Elton John - Elton Hated Hospital Stay

SIR ELTON JOHN hated falling ill with an E. coli infection last month (Oct09) - because it's the first time in his life he's been bedridden for days.

The Rocket Man axed several concerts in the U.K. when he was taken to hospital with the severe stomach bug and he was kept under doctors' surveillance for nine days while he recovered.

He bounced back from the illness on Monday night (16Nov09) to attend the Elton John AIDS Foundation gala in New York, and he's delighted with his return to health - because he doesn't like letting down his fans.

The singer says, "The worst thing about being in the hospital was that it's the first time I've been in bed for about nine days in the whole of my life. The worst thing was having to cancel shows, I hate that. But I'm back on my feet and I'm bouncing around now."
