Ellis 'Bored' By Genesis
Famed writer BRET EASTON ELLIS has a deep dislike of prog-rockers GENESIS - he was bored rigid by their music when researching his iconic novel AMERICAN PSYCHO.
Ellis' notorious 1991 book tells the story of crazed Wall Street banker Patrick Bateman, who has an obsession with 1980s pop music.
The author decided his character's main musical love should be Genesis - but he found delving into the band's back catalogue to research their songs was a painful experience.
Ellis tells Britain's NME magazine, "I realised that it just had to be Genesis (that Bateman was obsessed with). I really wanted these music chapters, so harrowingly I bought all their records. It was just mind-blowingly boring, numbing!"
