Ellen Page Gets Twitter Death Threats, Calls In The Cops
The threats have been serious enough for the 25 year-old to turn to the Lapd to help her out, and the force have sent a search warrant to Twitter for information on the two believed accounts that have been sending her the messages. The threats were given added gravitas given that they were sent at the same time the organisers of the LA Film Festival - where Page's new film 'To Rome With Love' is going to be aired - received a phone call from an anonymous person who claimed they would go to the festival to kill the actress.
That festival's now been and gone, and Page has obviously survived unscathed. Nevertheless, it seems to be a quite considered and focused attempt to unsettle, as opposed to just a couple of different jokers fooling around.
