Eddie Vedder - Eddie Vedder Postpones Us Solo Tour By Six Months
Pearl Jam front man and grunge legend Eddie Vedder has had to postpone his solo tour of the United States so that nerve damage he has suffered in his right hand can heal. The fifteen city tour was set to open in Las Vegas on Tuesday 10th, but will now get underway around Halloween and run through to early December, The Los Angeles Times reports. Tickets for the cancelled dates will be honoured at the new dates later in the year, with all changed allegedly to be announced through Pearl Jam's website. Whilst his scheduled gigs will be rescheduled, his appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on May 3rd will be cancelled.
The tour was in support of Vedder's 2011 solo release 'Ukulele Songs,' on which he performs predominately with the instrument made famous by George Formby and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. He had already performed a number of shows last year in support of the album, however these cancelled shows were the only official support dates.
Despite these cancelled shows, Vedder will still be performing alongside his Pearl Jam band mates at the headlining slot at this year's Isle of Wight Festival alongside fellow headliners Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. The festival takes place June 22nd - 24th.
