Ed Sheeran Ready To Party After Winning Best Male Brit
Going into the Brits, the singer was considered to be the only real threat to Adele's clean sweep at the awards, though he failed to take home Best Single (Which went to One Direction). Speaking before the show, Sheeran said he had attended the event last year, and got encouragement from one of his close friends, saying, "I remember Tinie Tempah coming up to me and saying 'Next year's your year bro". When asked what he was most looking forward to at the ceremony, Ed said he would be partying afterwards, saying, "Yeah I'm not a big partier, it's just because I'm turning 21". Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, with his smash-hit single 'The A Team', which debuted at No.3 on the UK Chart. In January, it was announced Sheeran would begin his quest to break the United States, and support Snow Patrol on their U.S. tour, starting late March until May 2012. He beat James Blake, James Morrison, Noel Gallagher and Professor Green to Best Male Artist.
Despite being tipped to take Best Single at the Brits, it was boy-band One Direction who eventually triumphed for their song 'That's What Makes You Beautiful".
