Friendly Fires - Ed Macfarlane Recalls 'Dark' Pukkelpop Stage Collapse

Friendly Fires star Ed Macfarlane witnessed first-hand the terrible injuries sustained by revellers as a storm hit Belgium's Pukkelpop Festival earlier this month (Aug11) - because the band was sheltering next to the first-aid tent.
The British group was due to play the event, but before they could take to the stage strong winds and rain hit the site.
Fans and artists alike ran for cover, but five revellers were killed by the freak storm as a stage collapsed and dozens more were injured.
And MACfarlane can still remember the "dark" scenes he saw in the aftermath of the tragedy.
He tells, "The worst (festival) was definitely Pukkelpop. We didn't get onstage, but we were right in the middle of everything, right next to the first aid tent. Which wasn't the best place to be, the whole thing was f**king dark side."
