Preparations are underway for legendary rocker BOB DYLAN to celebrate New Year's Eve at his newly renovated Scottish mansion. The 66-year-old singer/songwriter spent $4.4 million (GBP2.2 million) on Aultmore House in Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire last year (06) but had to wait for restoration work to be completed before he could move in. The private estate, which is set in 25 acres of woodland, was a joint investment between Dylan and his brother David Zimmerman and the pair are finally ready to host their first Hogmanay party there at the close of this year (07). A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "It is ready to move into. Nethy Bridge locals are placing bets on who will be the first to spot Bob Dylan and how much whisky he will be buying." But other residents are unhappy about their famous neighbour and have voiced concerns that he may ruin their own end of year celebrations. The source adds, "There is a real fear that a stream of fans will pour into the remote area for New Year following their guru. Everyone is agreeing not to rent out rooms to keep the place as quiet and traditional as possible."

| Exactly! Why don't the locals' , wary of an influx of Dylan fans have a wee word in the ears of the shopkeepers et al who tell the press of an impending visit? That would be in everybody's interests except those who would attempt to exploit his presence? Most of Bobby's listeners will be too busy at home getting on with life to creep around a perimeter fence on a freezing hogmany night. These mouths may just attract the attention of a few heiders no one would want in their village. As Bob has never courted the media this talk is coming from locals who cant hold their tongues. It's about time these people realized that this guy - who's been hounded all over - chose to buy - with his family - a place in their midst, act with the according dignity and discretion and give them the Peace and Privacy to enjoy it. Has Scottish pragmatism and hospitality been a myth all along? | ||

| Bob is a very private person, maybe that's why he bought the place. He knew the locals would not open arms to strangers,or be the least bit friendly. | ||
