Dyer 'Devastated' By Magazine Scandal

British actor DANNY DYER has spoken out to deny he advised a reader of a U.K.magazine to "cut" his girlfriend's face - insisting he has been "completely misquoted".
The Business star sparked outrage in Britain after replying to a letter in his column for men's publication Zoo, telling a 23-year-old reader to "cut your ex's face, and then no one will want her" when asked for advice on how to get over a break-up.
Anti-domestic violence groups attacked the comments, and the editor of the magazine immediately apologised, blaming a "regrettable production error" for the remarks.
And Dyer has backed up the publisher's claims, insisting he is "devastated" readers believe he wrote the controversial comments.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "This is totally out of order, I am totally devastated. I have been completely misquoted. This is not the advice I would give any member of the public. I do not condone violence against women."
The fan who wrote the letter, Alex Woolliscroft, is now demanding an apology from the star, and "maybe compensation".
He tells Britain's Guardian newspaper, "It does change my view of the magazine for printing it, and the man. I did it because I wanted some advice. His advice was a bit sick. I was with the girl for a year and would never think about trying to hurt her.
"I'm going to ring them (Zoo) and see what they have to say. When something like this happens, at first I'd like an apology and maybe compensation."
