Dutch Prince Transferred To London Hospital
Dutch Prince Johan Friso has been transferred to a hospital in London, two weeks after he suffered brain damage in a skiing accident in Austria.
The royal was caught up in an avalanche at the Austrian resort of Lech last month (Feb12) and admitted to a medical facility in Innsbruck, where doctors declared the 43 year old was in a coma and unlikely to regain consciousness.
Friso, son of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, has now been transferred to the private Wellington Hospital in London to continue treatment.
A statement from the Dutch royal family reads, "His Royal Highness Prince Friso arrived today (01Mar12) in London, where he has been living for many years. Wellington Hospital was recommended by experts. Considering his condition, Prince Friso will receive the best possible treatment there."
The prince's wife and two daughters have joined him in London.
