Dutch musician Frans Bruggen has died at the age of 79.
The recorder player passed away on 13 August (14) in Amsterdam, according to the New York Times.
Bruggen, uncle of recorder soloist Daniel Bruggen, was best known for co-founding the Orchestra of the 18th Century with Sieuwert Verster in 1981.
He also conducted the Netherlands' Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Illinois and Britain's Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The 1969 session, including the only known recording of 'Sunshine Woman' by the band, will be included on a re-issue of 'The Complete BBC Sessions'...
