The new Dustin Hoffman television drama 'Luck' has agreed to stop using horses in filming after a third thoroughbred was injured and put down during production of the drama, reports the Bbc. Following the event the Aha (American Humane Association) issued an order demanding HBO, the program's producer, to cease using the animals.
California Horse Racing Board vet Dr Gary Beck commented that he'd checked on the latest horse to die before it had gone out for filming and all had seemed well, unfortunately though disaster struck. "The horse was on her way back to the stall when she reared, flipped over backwards, and struck her head on the ground." It was agreed that euthanasia was the best option for the maimed animal.
