Duran Duran - Duran Duran's John Taylor Still Works To Stay Sober

Duran Duran star John Taylor faces a daily test of his willpower to stay sober years after kicking a serious drug habit, insisting the addictions are "still there".
The bassist admits life during the band's 1980s heyday was a haze of drugs, partying and rock 'n' roll as they were constantly surrounded by temptation.
In his new memoir, In the Pleasure Groove, Taylor recalls attending a recording session during the Eighties at the Power Station studio in New York, where they ran into Bob Dylan, Bryan Ferry and the Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
In an excerpt obtained by editors of the New York Post's Page Six column, he writes, "Dylan was down the hall... I'd never seen more drugs in my life. The access to cocaine was unlimited."
However, Taylor admits the fun of life on the road with endless drugs only served to hide his true feelings: "Everyone wanted to party with me, but behind the party face, I was caught up in a vortex of fear, arrogance, loneliness and extraordinary popularity."
The musician managed to overcome his drug issues after a stint in rehab and has now settled down with his second wife, Juicy Couture fashion co-founder Gela Nash, but he confesses there are times when sticking to his clean-living lifestyle can prove tough.
He adds, "The addictions are still there, and keeping them at bay requires work."
