Duff Mckagan Joins Jane?
Former Guns'N'Roses rocker Duff McKagan has reportedly replaced Eric Avery as the new Jane's Addiction bassist.
Duff McKagan has joined Jane's Addiction.
The former Guns'N'Roses rocker will reportedly join the 'Just Because' hitmakers - consisting of singer Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins - as the bassist on a new, upcoming album.
McKagan - who has also played with Velvet Revolver - will replace Eric Avery who quit the US group on Monday (01.03.10), shortly after they played the last of their world tour dates in Australia.
Announcing his attention to leave the group, he tweeted: "That's it. With equal parts regret and relief, the Jane's Addiction experiment is at an end."
While his former bandmates have not said anything specifically, singer Perry Farrell posted a cryptic message on his own twitter page.
He tweeted: "Slipping out of that shell of a past. Gripping; wow we're onto something faster now. And so worth the wait. It's the Art Of Great Escape."
Avery was a founding member of the band when it launched in 1985, and rejoined his bandmates when they decided to get back together in 2008 for a reunion.
