Sarah Ferguson - Duchess Of York Facing Possible 22 Years In Prison?

Sarah Ferguson, also known as Sarah, Duchess of York, could be facing a legal battle in Turkey, regarding an undercover report that she filmed for Itv in 2008. The report in question was filmed for the Tonight program, at the Children's Nuturing and Rehabilitation Center, outside Ankara. The Ankara Prosecutor's office have accused Sarah Ferguson of "violating the private lives and rights of five children," Cnn has reported today. The chief prosecutor involved in the case has called for a prison sentence of 22 years and six months.
During the filming, the Duchess wore a dark wig and a headscarf to disguise her identity, whilst investigating the welfare of mentally and physically disabled children at the centre. She has released a statement, saying "I stand strong in the face of the rights of children, and I remain steadfast. Children are our future." The Home Office has also released a statement, even though it is not standard procedure to comment on individual cases. Their statement read "the Home Office can confirm it has received a formal request for mutual legal assistance concerning Sarah, Duchess of York. It is not appropriate to comment further."
The charges were first raised in 2008 and an Itv News spokesperson, Grant Cunningham has spoken out in defence of the channel's original standpoint on the matter: "Itv was made aware yesterday through media reports of charges related to our program being raised again. Charges were raised in 2008 and we said at that time that we firmly stand by our program and our position remains unchanged."

Suggest we stop visiting Turkey if their views are so narrow that they trump up stupid charges when factual films are made
