The Academy Is - Drummer Andy Mrotek Assaulted In Wisconsin

The drummer was walking near Humbolt Park in Milwaukee when an unknown perpetrator attacked him with a flower pot, breaking his jaw in five places and fracturing the orbital bones around both eyes.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "Getting a vase smashed in your face, and kicked in in your eyes - getting jumped rules! Jaw broken in five places, R&L (right and left) orbitals fractured, 25 stitches. And I get to get plastic surgery in one week. Yay! And no, I didn't see anyone's face. Just a flower pot and a bunch of feet."

Mrotek has since uploaded several images of his injuries on the social networking blog and thanked fans for their continued support.
