Hip-hop star Drake "fell in love" with rapper Nicki Minaj as soon as he met her - but his feelings are unrequited because she sees him as a "little brother".
The stars, who are both signed to the Young Money Entertainment record label, were recently rumoured to be dating but they have both insisted their relationship is purely platonic.
But Drake, who previously romanced Rihanna, admits he has strong feelings for Minaj and hopes he will one day win her over.
He tells MTV2's Sucker Free Countdown, "Me and Nicki have a really playful relationship. When I was on tour... I saw Nicki for the first time and, like, literally fell in love... I've always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she's always just looked at me as, like, her little brother."
The rapper even mentions his love for Minaj in his track Miss Me with the line, "I love Nicki Minaj/ I told her I'd admit it/ I hope one day we get married just to say we f**king did it."
And he reveals the song is just part of his plan to woo Minaj: "That line on the album is just me playing with her. I'll be playing with her for years until she's ready to go, and then I'm ready."
But even though Drake has spoken so candidly about his feelings for the hip-hop newcomer, Minaj has brushed off his comments as a publicity stunt: "Drake does not have a crush on me... Drake knows how to get you guys' attention."
