Eminem - Dr Dre inspired to return to rap by Eminem
Dr Dre's creativity has been revitalised after producing Eminem's new album and he has been recording tracks of his own.
Eminem has inspired Dr Dre to get back in the studio.
The rappers have been working on Eminem's eighth studio album, the follow-up to 2010's 'Recovery', and hip-hop veteran Dr Dre admits playing the role of producer has finally made him want to lay down some tracks of his own.
He told Power 106 FM: ''Em is finishing up his project. And for me, I've just got inspired again to go back into the studio.
''I'm just really having fun with life and having fun with being creative and trying new and different things with myself, just trying to stay active.''
Dre hasn't made an album since 1999's '2001' and has been working on his third solo album 'Detox' for over a decade, with the release date pushed back to 2005 and then 2010.
The star confessed he finds it difficult to keep churning out hits and said he is trying to revitalise his passion for making music.
He explained: ''As you know, it's been almost 30 years for me in music.
''It's a little bit difficult to keep getting inspired to get back in there but you know, music is my first love and I'm going to continue to do that as long as I can.''
