Dougie Poynter - Dougie Poynter's Wildlife Campaign Inspired By Jungle Victory

British pop star Dougie Poynter was inspired to support a campaign to save African mountain gorillas after getting back to nature on reality Tv show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The MCFly bassist spent three weeks in an Australian rainforest for the survival programme last year (11) and was crowned 'King of the Jungle' when he triumphed in the final viewers' vote.

Poynter rediscovered his love for the great outdoors during his stint on the show, and he signed on as a new ambassador for the World Wide Fund for Nature (Wwf) last month (Oct12) to promote its Mountain Gorilla Adoption Project.

He tells We Love Pop magazine, "I was in Africa with the Wwf as I'm an ambassador. I've always been obsessed with wildlife and have had jungle fever since I'm a Celebrity... So I asked to get more involved with Wwf, and they took me to Rwanda to hang out with mountain gorillas."
