Dominic Cooper's Childhood Acting Ambition Fulfilled
Dominic Cooper got to fulfil one of his childhood ambitions in 'Captain America: The First Avenger'.
The British actor had been captivated ever since he saw 1985 movie 'Back To The Future' - in which Michael J. Fox's character uses a car modified with a 'Flux Capacitor' to go back in time - and got to fulfil one of his fantasies by playing mad scientist Howard Stark, who develops Captain America's Battle Vehicle.
He said: "It was one of those childhood dreams, of desperately wanting to say 'the flux capacitor'. I create this quite interesting futuristic automobile in 'Captain America' and while doing the scene I thought, 'I'm actually in Back to the Future.'
"I actually did exactly what I dreamed of when I was a small child in the cinema and said, 'One day I would love to be that person in that film.' Making 'Captain America' felt pretty cool."
Dominic also appears in new film 'The Devil's Double', where he plays the son of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, Uday, and the man who was forced to play his body double, Latif Yahia, and he admits the film was something he had pursued for a long time.
He added to The Independent: "When I first read 'The Devil's Double', there were lots of people attached to it, directors and actors, so it always seemed like a really far-off prospect, but I very much pursued it and kept asking about it. It's the one script that I actually remember pursuing constantly."
'The Devil's Double' is in UK cinemas from August 10.
